AU Stuff
Sokka
Father: Trafalgar Law
Mother: Some nameless Kya-esque woman who be dead.
Sister: Katara
Wife: Suki
Kids: Toph, Fenimore (since Fenimore is aged down, Toph is the big sister!)
-So I guess Sokka is probably thirty-ish in this AU, despite appearances, given his kids. As kids, he and Katara lost their mother to the wars. Although this causes Trafalgar to retire from the battlefield, Sokka takes becoming a warrior all the more seriously and dedicates himself to learning combat. On his fourteenth birthday, he receives his first tattoo and gains more from his dad over time. During his teenage years, he dedicates himself to all things weapons, including becoming the apprentice to the previous blacksmith in Luceti. (Like with Hakoda, he probably received his boomerang from Law here..)
-He probably met Suki in much the same way he did in canon. If Luceti hadn't already done it, she did a good job of drilling any sexist attitude out of him. Likewise they probably got engaged much the same was as in Luceti and married sometime after. Although hoping for boys, they ended up having two girls instead. So Sokka encouraged tomboyish behavior instead, since he couldn't have sons to wrestle with. Although still a warrior in his own right, he doesn't fight much save for defending the village or friendly spars with Okita Souji.
-I think Sokka's parenting style is trying to be that Cool Dad. He'll let the kids do mostly what they want so long as it doesn't get them hurt or in too much trouble. He makes horrible dad puns all the time (what else is new?) and tries to relate to his kids. Even if he might get frustrated at times, he's the kind of person who thinks being a dad is just awesome and is super proud of having his two daughters. He probably inadvertently encourages some of their bad habits too. Since they're both kind of tomboyish (Toph more than Fenimore), I'd like to think that's kind of a result of Sokka having wanted sons. Not that he loves his kids any less, but he's definitely encouraged any boyish qualities they have. Like, you know, wrestling with the kids and stuff.
-He has a lot of other family. Of note... he's pretty protective of Ranka and she probably ranks as his closest cousin. His relationship with Sanji is pretty similar (likes 'em, but thinks he's kind of nuts), and he's kind of bewildered how Nami fits into it all. Grandpa Brook is pretty cool too, even if he's dead. As for his nephew, Zoro... who knows, maybe Sokka taught him a thing or two in sword fighting? XD;
-At the smithy, it looks like he's probably the oldest now and the boss in charge of the place. So assuming they all still work there, he'll know Winry and Hiccup and Edward from there. He's probably not that much different in how he acts around them. He's a big kid.
-Still in House 56. Sokka will wonder why he and Suki have separate rooms. And why Fenimore is missing. Katara and Zuko shouldn't be there. 8|
