When do we start getting some real snow around here? I've seen a little here and there, but the stuff practically melts by the time it hits the ground! My real birthday is in November, but not, you know, the one it is in Luceti. I won't actually be, you know, seventeen this month. That's not the point. But back home, we have some pretty good blizzards this time of year. I mean, sure, there's snow all the time back home, but November snow is... special? Kind of? I'm just hoping we don't have to wait until December for the real stuff. Sunshine and flowers are great and all, but it's getting kind of old by now, you know?

[Having let everyone know his feelings about the weather, as well as work related updates, Sokka settles into the smithy to get some work done and meet anyone coming to pick up their orders. Afterward, he decides to have some fun in the Battle Dome. He can either be stopped on his way there from the smithy, or someone can meet up with him there.]

I'm from way further south than anyone else around here. We have snow pretty much all the time.

Thankfully, the rest of the world doesn't have to follow your home's weather. This is normal! [That is, closer to her home's climate.]

Not really. Especially here, where what's normal in my world isn't normal for yours.

I happen to be quite fond of my normal too, you know. [A pause.] Although I don't think I'd like a Water Tribe winter here. I don't think most of you guys would last it.

Were you here for the big blizzard we had here? Think that, but lasting for weeks at a time.

...And you like the snow?

Just as long as it's not that much.

To each their own...I guess. I can't believe anyone would choose to live someplace with weather like that, though.

Yeah, well, it's home. It's not always great, but there's parts of it that make it worth it.

Enough to make--? Mm. [Probably rude to diss his home.] I guess you have a point. ...I wouldn't know--I've never been somewhere that cold.

Every winter, though usually not quite as much as there was last year here. [...wow, it's really nearly been a year since she got here.] And certainly not year-round. It already outlives its welcome during the winter, in my opinion.

What I find hard to believe is that there's places with no snow at all. People who've never seen it at all.

Isn't that pretty n--? [...Oh, wait.] Well, if there are places that always have snow, there's going to be places that don't have it at all. So, if someone's born in one of those places--there aren't many people who get to travel, from what I've seen.

Yeah. Until two years ago, I was like that. And then, bam. Met the Avatar, suddenly going all over the world. Never did make it to Whale Tail Island, though...

Really? So, then, I guess this "Avatar" travels a lot, too? [I'm pretty sure that the Avatar has never come up, even when he was the Avatar for a week.]

Well, it's all part of the world saving thing. You don't go around saving people without actually going to where they live.

Well, okay, maybe it wasn't the whole world. But most of it.

Not just traveled, I did part of the world saving too, you know!
