Sokka the 48th -- [Voice/Action]

[After being sent home in his own bed, Sokka had slept in a bit, finally had some real food and then went to see Suki. By now, he figures he should check to see how things went. Thus, he has a message to leave.]

Well that was a lousy week. How's everyone else doing? Did I miss anything?

Oh and uh. I think I might have to take the week off from the smithy. Maybe longer. That goes for training too.

[... yeah, that should do. He'll hang around town acting just a bit odd. For instance, very gently and very slowly opening the doors to shops. He doesn't bother going to the smithy. He's mainly just trying to stave off boredom due to the fact he really can't do much of anything now. Stupid Malnosso.]

Quite a few? Almost everyone here has saved at least a village, if not a country or two. Or the whole world. Several, in some crazy cases.

Yes, I'm starting to notice that, too. Most everyone from my world seems to have been involved in war, for example.

Do you think it's one of the... criteria of the Malnosso? Such things?

Maybe for this particular village. [He's long suspected that they just picked the best of the best to experiment on.] Maybe we're picked for being the most 'durable' or something.

Ah-hah... I fought in a war, actually. [Led an army, details.]

Well, saved a few villages here and there. Led a battle against the Fire Nation... stopped an airship fleet from incinerating an entire country at the end of the war. Fairly mundane stuff compared to other people here.

[Sokka used to think it was amazing. Then Luceti happened.]

So... army, huh? You were in a war, then?

Ah, yes. My country was embroiled in a civil war.

Well....

Basically, my sister, the princess, got engaged. Then, her fiancé arranged a coup, and killed the Queen and commander, our parents. I and a few others escaped, but my sister was trapped.

He thus began to use her as a puppet queen, planning to use.... A runic weapon, to take over surrounding countries. We couldn't let his plans continue, and I couldn't let him use Lym as he did. So the war is to take the country back from the Godwins hands.

[... okay, wow. That's a real story. He lost his parents? And his sister was being used like that?]

Wow, Frey. That sounds really rough. This Godwin guy... what a jerk. [The whole royalty thing? Not a big deal. He'll say something about it later, though.]

I lost my mom to the war too. [And his father. For two years, anyway.] It's been a long time now, but still. All of that, just because one person gets greedy.

Some people are cruel. They don't care who they hurt in a struggle for power or wealth, as long as they reach the end they want.

Thanks. Your parents must have been pretty great too. [Although he's pretty sure Frey's mom is in Luceti. And knowing the full story now? He can only imagine what that must be like. Wonderful and horrible simultaneously.]

The Fire Lord was willing to incinerate an entire kingdom just because, even after conquering it, there was still some that were resisting him. He figured it was better to 'start over'.
