[As if Sokka hasn't had enough teleporting shenanigans... With the experiment going into its final hours in the early evening until midnight, Sokka is reappearing in quite a number of places. Bedrooms, closets, roofs, the middle of nowhere... it's all quite convenient. ((ooc: In other words, say where you want him to be and that's where he'll be!))

At one point, he falls into the southern lake. Right into the middle... going splash. After sinking quite deep from the height of the fall, he drags himself to shore, but only after he gets there does he realize he lost Boomerang to the bottom of the lake. After vainly attempting to dive for it several times, he'll be sitting on the edge of the lake looking generally defeated and pathetic at the failed attempts. The fact it's dark and cold don't even seem to bother him. Boomerang is everything to him. ((ooc: Retrieving it is locked to Razette, but others can certainly talk to him so long as they don't have the power to go dive for it themselves.))

He also, unfortunately, ends up in the mountains at about midnight. Come early next morning (post-event), an exhausted, bedraggled, and by now somewhat injured Sokka will be dragging himself into town from the plaza, on his way home. He looks pretty much horrible from how much the experiment has abused him.]

Our enemies just shoot fire out of their hands.

[And giant bugs with lasers attached to their heads. He'd take your fire-shooting-guys any day of the week.]

Huh. How's that work, some sort of magic or what?

More or less. [He's the wrong half of the water siblings to ask about that. Explaining bending nonsense is a pointless conversation for him, since he can't give the demonstration that goes with it.]

Although the war is over, just recently. So they're not really our enemies anymore.

What kind of non-enemies are they though? There's a lot of different relationships that can pop up between nations after a war.

Who knows? The war ended weeks before I showed up here. Their new leader is one of my friends, so that's something.

[A friend of his took over control of the enemy? Now that's some weird politics.]

Sounds like a pretty fortuitous turn of events, especially considering you've got at least some peace of mind about what you've left behind.

Yeah, although really, I'd have more peace of mind if I was still there... [Annoyed groan.] And not stuck on some mountain.

Hey, you can't have everything, right?

[He laughs, but boy does it sound forced. Probably because his feet are killing him and then some.]

And it could always be worse.

Yeah... [He stops walking, glancing over at him now.]

Maybe we should take a break.

[he shakes his head.]

Nah, let's see if we can at least make it to the base of the mountains first. can't be that much farther, and it'll be nice to have something besides rocks and more rocks to take a break on.

Well, if you insist. [Sokka has stamina in spades, fortunately. A nice perk of using excess free time in Luceti for endurance training. Doesn't stop him from looking exhausted and haggard though.]

I just wish I had spent more time on Hyt now.

[He'll probably need a break before they get that far- but right now, he'd rather try to just get back to town, then deal with the inevitable exhaustion and injuries in the comfort of his apartment.]

...How exactly would hitting things help here?

[Yeah, he completely ignored the stuff on Filial magic when he was reading the guide on his first day.]

...Ah, right. don't suppose you'd mind explaining exactly what the filial spirits are now, would ya?

There's these spirits here in Luceti, right? They teach you to unlock this kind of... inner magic you get when you arrive here. But you have to make contact with them, some are harder than others. For instance... [His favorite trick, he snaps his fingers and creates a small candle-sized flame on the tip of his thumb.] Eferin can be a challenge.

... some are easier, but Hyt is really, really hard. But if I could use Hyt's magic, it would be better than having a lantern.

So what spirits are there- and how exactly does one go about contacting them...?

Well... you have Kippin for wind, Eferin for fire, Tsinky for electricity, Sona for water, Faeren for earth, and Hyt for light. And then there's Nala, for healing magic. I only know the first three.

[He actually stopped trying to learn them when he found they only worked in the enclosure... and well, he hasn't had luck with Nala.] Making pacts with them is just... sitting, meditating, and waiting for them to 'talk' to you.

Well, looks like I've got another way to occupy my time... if we ever make it back to town, at least.

The school is the best way to get started, if that's your kind of thing.

[That's not his teeth, per se. It's just the concentrated aura of win reacting with the air around him.]

Guess I know what classes I'll be taking this week... if I'm in any shape to get to school.

[Hmmm...] Do you go to school here? [Sokka usually does, but he doesn't really pay attention, except in the classes he cares about. And he barely pays attention to the other students.]
