[See Sokka. See Suki. See Sokka and Suki ~~but fully dressed~~. Despite having friends going around dying, getting injured, or what have you, nothing will dampen his warrior spirit... at having his girlfriend around. Which is why he's called off work so he can spend the day with her ~~and show her off to the doubters~~. This means he'll be dragging her off to stores for ~shopping~ for whatever happens to look cool, interesting, or highly collectible. Or for lunch, eating at Seventh Heaven ~~at a seat by the window naturally~~.

Pity Suki as she is dragged all through town and maybe even a little outside of town by her over enthusiastic boyfriend. He means well, really. Before this, however, he leaves a message on the journals. One of superb importance not only for his fellow workers, but for his fighting instructors as well. And friends maybe. And people who might happen to be fans. It's been known to happen.]

I am taking the day off. Because I have someone way better than some old smithy. [Indeed, that's all he had to say. He's worked at the smithy every day for two weeks now, so he's ready for a break. And Suki is way better, so he's not just saying that.]

[Ah yes, the boomerang.]

Do you have weapons like that where you're from, Master Okita?

[He steps forward and looks at the strange crooked device thingy.]

....how does it work?

Well, I can throw it and it will always come back to me, unless it's blocked by something. In fact, if you want to pick out anything you can see, I bet I can hit it.

[Confident? Oh, you bet he is. And he has every reason to be.]

[Ooh, it's been a while since she got to see Boomerang in action. She points to a hanging sign off in the distance.]

How about that?

[He smiles and nods, moving back so he can watch this demonstration.]

Well if you insist!

[Well, Suki knows as well as he does that sign is doomed, so no need to bring it up. Sokka steps forward, holds his boomerang over his shoulder, and once he's worked out how to throw it, he sends it flying. It goes spinning at rapid speed, cutting through the wire holding up the sign, and then whipping back towards him where he catches it with ease.]

[Have a pleased little clap from your girlfriend.]

Now you just need to learn how to do that with a fan.

[That was impressive. He's never seen a throwing star and comes back to the person. Now that he's seen it, he wants to learn how to use that thing. Or perhaps get Susumu to learn it since he's more on the throwing things. Plus, yes, his face looks like this.]

....that was really impressive.

[Sokka feels immensely proud at having left his sensei so awed. He puts his boomerang away.]

I don't think fans can spin back like that, Suki.

That sounds like a challenge to me!

It does indeed. [And he's mostly looking to see what Suki's tessenjutsu is like now. Kids these days; so impressive.]

Hey, if you can pull it off, then I'll be happy to have you teach me how. [So why don't you go ahead and try.]

[In front of you, so you can hold it over her head that your boomerang skills are uber? Noooo thanks. She'll be trying it out later, grasshopper.] We'll see.

[He smiles as he watches the two of them talk back and forth.]

Well, I look forward to seeing what you can do with your fans. It's a dying art in my country.

Really? That's too bad.

That's terrible. Fans are underrated. [Knowing look to Sokka. Yeah you didn't think much of them before, did you, but you were taught. ~~we don't mention Azula~~]

Yes, unfortunately...But with young masters like yourselves around, perhaps there is still hope.

[Sokka glances at Suki.]

Maybe you could give out lessons!

What, you mean like training Kyoshi Warriors here?

That is a possibility. There are many here who look for teachers in the different arts.

Very true. Besides, I'm sure there's a few girls who would be into that 'girls only' thing. People love exclusivity.
