Sokka the 43rd - [Action + Voice]

[See Sokka. See Suki. See Sokka and Suki ~~but fully dressed~~. Despite having friends going around dying, getting injured, or what have you, nothing will dampen his warrior spirit... at having his girlfriend around. Which is why he's called off work so he can spend the day with her ~~and show her off to the doubters~~. This means he'll be dragging her off to stores for ~shopping~ for whatever happens to look cool, interesting, or highly collectible. Or for lunch, eating at Seventh Heaven ~~at a seat by the window naturally~~.

Pity Suki as she is dragged all through town and maybe even a little outside of town by her over enthusiastic boyfriend. He means well, really. Before this, however, he leaves a message on the journals. One of superb importance not only for his fellow workers, but for his fighting instructors as well. And friends maybe. And people who might happen to be fans. It's been known to happen.]

I am taking the day off. Because I have someone way better than some old smithy. [Indeed, that's all he had to say. He's worked at the smithy every day for two weeks now, so he's ready for a break. And Suki is way better, so he's not just saying that.]

[Oh, that works. Sokka glances up at Sanji thoughtfully.]

Uh, maybe. What's good today? I mean, especially good.

Is this your restaurant? I've never been here before.

[Suki gets an answer first] That's right! I run the place by myself, mostly.

And oi, everything's good, Sokka. [come now, who do you think you're talking to? ... But he does end up answering the question after a thoughtful pause, pulling out his journal]

Sokka, for you... [another pause before flipping to another page] To start with, maybe the Daube de Sanglier (http://www.beyond.fr/picsfood/sanglier0004.jpg). It's a boar-stew served with pasta.

[Well, he has no idea what a daube or sanglier is, but boar is meat and pasta isn't too bad either.]

Yeah, I'll go with the thing you just said. Sounds pretty good.

[Wow. That looks pretty tasty, but-]

Could you make it a little smaller? That's a lot of meat. [Gotta keep that slender Kyoshi figure intact.]

As you wish~! [he straightens and closes the journal]

I'll have your meals out soon. Before that, drinks to start with?

[Oh Sanji, such a perfect waiter. Sokka is impressed by not only that, but how much respect he's showing Suki.]

Orange soda for me.

Soda? [What is that, it has a silly name 8|]

[Pause... um.]

It's... fizzy. And bubbly. [Sokka, you might have to help him out with the details] I've never tried it myself, but it's very popular.

How about I get you a glass anyway - if it's not to your liking, send it back for something else.

You'll love it! Toph discovered it. It's like... they used bending to put air in it. [Or course he knows it's more complex and science-y than that. But this is a date.] Like... fruit juice with a kick to it.

That sounds good! Sure, I'll try it.

Two orange sodas it is. I'll be right out with your drinks.

[So excuse him, kids, he'll be back after the next round of tags]

[Once he's gone, Sokka sets down his menu.]

So, that was Sanji. Not a bad guy. [And he didn't go crazy on Suki. Guess he warned her about all that for nothing.]

He seems very nice. [She hadn't noticed anything weird. Sokka's obviously taking him too seriously D|] And the food sounds great.

Yeah... too nice. [Sokka glances back towards the kitchen area. Was something wrong with Sanji? Was he still mad and taking it out on Suki? That bastard!] I wonder what his deal is.

You're worried? I thought it was a good thing. [He... didn't really mean Sanji was that crazy-like, did he?]

[Worried? Nah, he turns back to Suki.]

Huh? Oh, I guess so. I just thought he would really like you. [Why doesn't Sanji approve of his girlfriend? :( ]

We didn't exactly get to have a conversation. Maybe he needs more time.

He shouldn't need more time! He falls over himself for any other girl he meets!

But you're right here! Wouldn't that be rude? [S... Sokka you are not helping her fragile teenage-girl self image here.]

Of course it would be rude! But he does it anyway. [Sokka presses a finger against the table.] I'll just have to see what his problem is when he gets back!

[... which of course would be the perfect time for him to show up.]

[Oh you rang?

Sanji returns with two drinks in hand, completely unaware to their conversation]

Here you go, you two! Two orange sodas.

[YOU SEE HER NOW, SOKKA? She is a wilted flower, showing only lackluster enthusiasm for the bubbling drink. IS SHE NOT PRETTY. WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER ;_;]

[Sokka looks from the drinks, to Suki's sad sad face, and then to Sanji. No. No this will not stand. You have broken his girlfriend's heart, man. BROKEN IT.

Sokka gets to his feet.]

Hey Sanji, can I have a quick word with you in private?

[.... did something happen while he was gone? 8| He stares from her to Sokka and just nods because he has no fucking clue what is going down]

Sure, we can hit the kitchen. [He'll just lead the way]
