[See Sokka. See Suki. See Sokka and Suki ~~but fully dressed~~. Despite having friends going around dying, getting injured, or what have you, nothing will dampen his warrior spirit... at having his girlfriend around. Which is why he's called off work so he can spend the day with her ~~and show her off to the doubters~~. This means he'll be dragging her off to stores for ~shopping~ for whatever happens to look cool, interesting, or highly collectible. Or for lunch, eating at Seventh Heaven ~~at a seat by the window naturally~~.

Pity Suki as she is dragged all through town and maybe even a little outside of town by her over enthusiastic boyfriend. He means well, really. Before this, however, he leaves a message on the journals. One of superb importance not only for his fellow workers, but for his fighting instructors as well. And friends maybe. And people who might happen to be fans. It's been known to happen.]

I am taking the day off. Because I have someone way better than some old smithy. [Indeed, that's all he had to say. He's worked at the smithy every day for two weeks now, so he's ready for a break. And Suki is way better, so he's not just saying that.]

That I did! Because of course I would!

[...Well, at least he's up front with the other girls. ~~NOT JEALOUS NOT JEALOUS~~]

Really? Now I'm interested.

Well... he mentioned you were his girlfriend of course. You could tell from the dear's voice he's quite taken with you. You're both lucky to have found each other.

[Sokka nods in satisfaction, but stops at the use of 'dear'. Oh Heart, you weren't supposed to act like that!]

[...And Suki has a similar reaction.] "Dear"?

[...Oh. She blinks once and then seems taken aback, covering her mouth with one hand-] Oh...! I apologize, was that the sort of thing you didn't want me to say, Sokka?

[And now it's worse! Sokka slaps his forehead.]

... yes, Heart. Exactly that kind of thing.

[This is confusing, but also has the potential to be very interesting, clearly. Sokka, explain.] Just what's going on?

[Now slightly embarrassed Heart just keeps her hand over her mouth and... maybe blushes a tiny bit]

[... compose yourself Sokka.]

... nothing at all! Heart is just... [What exactly? She's nice, but a total enigma to him.] ... a friend?

[She's blushing. She's blushing. What.]

Sokka.

[...Oh dear this seems a little confusing. Heart decides, still blushing a little because she clearly committed a social error, to speak up.]

Sokka felt it would be best if I wasn't... acting "mothering" to him, I believe he said? Around you, I mean.

[... why did she have to put it like that? Dammit Heart. Why.]

... yeah. It's kind of embarrassing.

Why would you be acting motherly? [SUSPICIOUS GIRLFRIEND IS SUSPICIOUS. Or maybe Sokka just found another big-sister type. Regardless of age, Katara's always been sort of like that, hasn't she?]

Well... I don't really think I do. That's just how Sokka put it. [Awkwardly, she itches the side of her cheek before shooting an apologetic look at Sokka before admitting the real reason]

I just can't seem to help but think he needs a little help sometimes.

I really don't. I can take care of myself fine! [Of which Suki has first hand experience seeing!]

I suppose he does. Sometimes. [Not too often. And not by so many girls, either! He really is such a ladies man, good grief.]

Of course, Sokka. Just sometimes.

[With a polite smile which totally says "I don't believe that for a second but I'll humor you." Or perhaps, in simpler terms: "oh, you."]

[... sometimes. Can he just crawl away now?]

... anyway, what are you up to, Heart?

[You are so in the doghouse. ...Well, not really- she's pretty sure he's behaved himself. The woman's behaviour is just a bit odd, so she's still sizing her up.]

I was just getting some fresh air. I hadn't quite decided what to do with the day yet.

[Except for Dragobete and that time as Avatar Sokka... and that date with Shirley, Sokka has been nothing but good!]

Suki and I are just hitting up the stores, looking for some cool stuff to find. [He pats his good old Earth Kingdom bag of holding.] Maybe find a nice matching belt or something.

[Whatever, Sokka 8|]

Sokka loves shopping, and I wanted to see the town more. It's a nice village- it reminds me a little of home.

It really is. It's larger than where I spent my time before I arrived so it took some getting used to at first, but I enjoy it now.

[It's at that Sokka realizes he's never actually asked Heart about what her home is like. He really should, sometime. But... not today.]

Yeah, it's actually a lot bigger than the village back home. [But... well, there's reasons for that. Very depressing reasons.]
