[Shortly after the draft meeting, Sokka has been hanging out inside, pouring over the recon information Albert had provided a month prior, and matching it up with what Caesar had gone over. He wasn't the designated leader of his team, not really. There was possibly more qualified people for that. Brook and Erza came to mind, for that. Still, he could work on their own strategy. Their best defensive position would be the river. They just had to get there. Maybe... it wouldn't hurt to go talk to the people he'd be working with. If he can't stop them after they leave the meeting, he'll be going to the homes of any of his soon-to-be comrades. Well, assuming he knows where they live, at least. "Team A", huh.

... heh. Kind of like Team Avatar. Only without the Avatar.

Afterward, he figures it wouldn't hurt to make a few more stops. Since seeing Brook, Usopp and Chopper already necessitated a trip to the Straw Hats, he'll be making some quick stops at Mayoi's, Winry's, Xion's, and even Edward's. Lastly he'll even hit up Paru, since they are neighbors, after all. Of course, who's to say the people Sokka's looking for will actually answer the door and not someone else? No one, that's who! Once he's done making his rounds, time consuming as they are, he'll be spending the rest of his evening on his front porch, reviewing the plans. Silverbergs. Jeez.]

Do you believe them? That maybe it's better to be in here than out there?

I may be the wrong person to ask that. For me, constant fighting is normal; this peaceful life gets too tiresome at times. But for those who can't fight, perhaps it is better. These enemies are dangerous and difficult to kill. It's not a battle I'd care to fight every day.

Really, they don't need fighting to make this place less boring. Maybe if there was like... a water park or something. Or a beach. Maybe some sort of theater. And better fishing. The fishing here is getting boring. I want something I can actually harpoon, you know?

I wouldn't mind a few monsters to hunt now and then. This place feels too much like some little farming hamlet where nothing ever happens.

... monsters, right. [He's heard people talk about monsters before...] Are they really that common in some places?

I can only speak for my world, but they're common enough there. In my home country alone there were harpies, wolf-like creatures called giors, ogres, and giant serpents, just to list a few. There are many, many more in other regions, as well. In some areas they're more common than everyday animals.

I've never had a problem with fighting monsters. I'm not about to change my mind.

Well, see, I have no problem fighting firebenders. I'm just fine not having any here to fight here. Besides, sometimes monsters don't always attack the people who can fight.

[At least it's not a hug. Sokka would return the gesture, but Edward's extra inches would make it feel awkward. But it means a lot, all the same.]
