[Shortly after the draft meeting, Sokka has been hanging out inside, pouring over the recon information Albert had provided a month prior, and matching it up with what Caesar had gone over. He wasn't the designated leader of his team, not really. There was possibly more qualified people for that. Brook and Erza came to mind, for that. Still, he could work on their own strategy. Their best defensive position would be the river. They just had to get there. Maybe... it wouldn't hurt to go talk to the people he'd be working with. If he can't stop them after they leave the meeting, he'll be going to the homes of any of his soon-to-be comrades. Well, assuming he knows where they live, at least. "Team A", huh.

... heh. Kind of like Team Avatar. Only without the Avatar.

Afterward, he figures it wouldn't hurt to make a few more stops. Since seeing Brook, Usopp and Chopper already necessitated a trip to the Straw Hats, he'll be making some quick stops at Mayoi's, Winry's, Xion's, and even Edward's. Lastly he'll even hit up Paru, since they are neighbors, after all. Of course, who's to say the people Sokka's looking for will actually answer the door and not someone else? No one, that's who! Once he's done making his rounds, time consuming as they are, he'll be spending the rest of his evening on his front porch, reviewing the plans. Silverbergs. Jeez.]

That's right. He's really good at what he does. He helped one of my friends out after he had an encounter with Yuber.

((As a matter of fact, Brook and Chopper both do, being Devil Fruit users. They sink like a rock in water. This is the sort of information Sokka isn't inclined to give out though, given how easily it could be used against them. At least not initially.))

[He nods again, then starts tracing rows and columns on the table top.] So there's Raph and myself, you and your sister and your friend, and the three Straw Hats, and then these other two who aren't with anyone. Tell me about them.

((Do they sink like rocks to the point where they would drag down a strong swimmer, for example, a very large turtle?))

Right. San is a hunter, raised by Moro the forest wolf god. She's just a regular human, but she considers herself a wolf. So... don't call her a human or she'll probably be pretty angry with you. She uses a spear for hunting, so she'll likely use that for fighting as well. I don't think she has any special powers, but she's quick and strong.

As for Erza... I don't know much of anything about her. I've only talked to her once, but she seemed confident she could take Yuber in a fight one on one. Assuming she wasn't being reckless, I'd say that makes her a pretty serious fighter.

((That I don't know, not being a One Piece fan... and none of the muns are around for me to ask atm.))

[Don rests his head in his hand. This isn't the cohesive, well-trained unit he's used to working with, but it sounds like it could be worse.]

Please tell me we'll all have a chance to meet in person before we get dropped in the middle of a battle.

[If Donatello wants to see worse, he should just look at the other groups. This one is actually pretty organized.]

We should be able to meet up at that hotel... complex... thing before we're sent into battle. I'm hoping to find Erza today, too. [But... he doesn't know where she lives, so no telling if he'll be successful.]

There's a staging point? That makes me feel a lot better...

[A nod.]

We're going to need a way to communicate when we're down there. The journals should work... [Unless Donnie has a more elegant, modern solution.]

Sokka, is it true that the Malnosso will supply us with things from our homeworlds, if we ask for them? Do you think I could get my shell-cells?

[Have an odd look.]

Uh, yeah. But... what are... shell cells? [And can non-turtles even use them?]

They're cell phones! But with pull-out headsets, tracking chips, a button for distress signals -- [Oh, shell-cells. He has missed you so.]

[Fortunately Sokka has received adequate explanation of cell phones from Derek and Haruki, so he doesn't have to ask about that.]

Good idea, then. We should request enough for our group. You'll probably have to show us how to use them, though.

Don't worry; they're simple. Anyone can figure them out. [This may not be entirely true.]

[Sokka and Usopp should be able to. The others...]

A demonstration wouldn't hurt anyway. Just in case.

All right. If you can get everyone together, I'll give a demonstration.

[His gaze falls back to the map.] One more question, Sokka... Which way does the river run?

Huh. I never asked. [He studies the map. The river cut through the mountains, which may mean it flows down from the mountains like in the village.] Judging by the map, I'd guess it flows northwest. But we won't know for sure until we get there.

[Don sits back, satisfied.] That's all I need for now. If anything else comes up, let me know.

[Well then, Sokka stands up and starts rolling his map up.]

You've got it. I'll be seeing you early tomorrow, anyway. [In the tunnels, probably.]
