[Shortly after the draft meeting, Sokka has been hanging out inside, pouring over the recon information Albert had provided a month prior, and matching it up with what Caesar had gone over. He wasn't the designated leader of his team, not really. There was possibly more qualified people for that. Brook and Erza came to mind, for that. Still, he could work on their own strategy. Their best defensive position would be the river. They just had to get there. Maybe... it wouldn't hurt to go talk to the people he'd be working with. If he can't stop them after they leave the meeting, he'll be going to the homes of any of his soon-to-be comrades. Well, assuming he knows where they live, at least. "Team A", huh.

... heh. Kind of like Team Avatar. Only without the Avatar.

Afterward, he figures it wouldn't hurt to make a few more stops. Since seeing Brook, Usopp and Chopper already necessitated a trip to the Straw Hats, he'll be making some quick stops at Mayoi's, Winry's, Xion's, and even Edward's. Lastly he'll even hit up Paru, since they are neighbors, after all. Of course, who's to say the people Sokka's looking for will actually answer the door and not someone else? No one, that's who! Once he's done making his rounds, time consuming as they are, he'll be spending the rest of his evening on his front porch, reviewing the plans. Silverbergs. Jeez.]

[This is the weirdest way to discuss tactics, but... well, whatever.]

We'll also be fighting with Raphael, Donatello, San, and Erza Scarlet too. I really don't know Erza though.

I believe that I've spoken with Erza-san once. She seemed to accept the nature of Devil Fruit powers easily enough. And Donatello... isn't that one of the turtle men? [He's met San briefly too, but not Raphael, alas.]

Donnie and Raphael are both turtles, yeah. [Well at least Brook is familiar with most of them, that's good.] So that makes ten of us, altogether.

Ah, I must not have met that one! But that makes for a decent sized group. When we depart, we should take the opportunity to discuss one another's strengths and weaknesses to work better together in the battle. And just what everyone will be doing for it.

Well actually I already know most of that. You already know what the three of us can do and what your crew can do... Raphael and Donatello are both ninjas. Raphael uses sai for weapons and he's really tough, but... not so good at participating. So I wouldn't count on him much. Donatello is a staff fighter. He's also going to be running recon for us. I don't know how well San can hold her own in a fight, but if she can keep up with Moro, she has to be good. And Erza, well, I have no idea.

Anyway, we have everything figured out. We just need someone to lead the team. And... [Staring at Brook now.] Do you have to be under the bed? [Because he is not asking you to do anything like that.]

Hmm... [Sorry, adding up all of this information in his head and trying to plan for just what to do with it later on. Strawhats are good with working with other peoples strengths. Oh hi, question.] Eh? Well, [Glance at the closed door.] I suppose it would be safe for now.

[Crawling out then.]

[Well, as long as Brook is paying attention. Once Brook is situated, Sokka will continue.]

We need someone to lead the group. The last time I led an invasion didn't go so well... so I figured you'd be better at it. [Since you're old and stuff. Naturally this means you have experience. And know all other old people.]

[...Ah. This is a far more serious matter than the rest of discussion has been so far, making the mood far more sober.]

I will admit to you, I have experience in this sort of thing. But that was years ago - I am not quite the man that I once was. What makes you so certain that I am the best choice?

[Sokka shrugs.]

Well you're the oldest of us, I figured if anyone would be able to lead, it'd be you. They might be more likely to listen to you anyway.

My own crew and yours, perhaps, but I hardly know the others. [Wait-] And I'm not that old!

[Considering the ages of this team now... god dammit, all these youngins.]

[...Plus there's the fact that he might not even be mentally fit for this job at the moment.] I will give it my best effort. However, I think that this would work best if I had a second to defer to in the instances where my experience does not cover.

[You're dead Brook. That makes you SUPER OLD.]

I guess I could do that. The second thing. [That's basically what he did for his dad during the invasion...]

Good. [A nod to himself. He thinks he can do this. Heck, it's probably just the thing he needs to get his mind off of the stuff he's been trying not to think about.]

Shall we pick up this conversation at a later date then? Once we've had an opportunity to sit down with the rest of our team. [They'll be better able to talk strategy then.]

Uh, sure. Are you going back under the bed?

For the time being! It probably won't be safe enough for me to leave my hiding spot until at least supper time. Perhaps not even then, but I shan't miss the meal.

Oh. Well in that case... [Sokka reaches beside him, opening his bag of holding, and pulls out an apple.] This should hold you over for now. I'll just go grab another one at the store.

Aha! [Glee! Taking that apple now.] You are a good man, Sokka-san! I think that you are already making a very worthy second.

[He'll grin as he gets to his feet.]

Thanks. [Even though he hasn't done anything, it's good to hear.] I'll see you soon. [And off he goes. Your secret hiding place is safe with him for now.]
