[Shortly after the draft meeting, Sokka has been hanging out inside, pouring over the recon information Albert had provided a month prior, and matching it up with what Caesar had gone over. He wasn't the designated leader of his team, not really. There was possibly more qualified people for that. Brook and Erza came to mind, for that. Still, he could work on their own strategy. Their best defensive position would be the river. They just had to get there. Maybe... it wouldn't hurt to go talk to the people he'd be working with. If he can't stop them after they leave the meeting, he'll be going to the homes of any of his soon-to-be comrades. Well, assuming he knows where they live, at least. "Team A", huh.

... heh. Kind of like Team Avatar. Only without the Avatar.

Afterward, he figures it wouldn't hurt to make a few more stops. Since seeing Brook, Usopp and Chopper already necessitated a trip to the Straw Hats, he'll be making some quick stops at Mayoi's, Winry's, Xion's, and even Edward's. Lastly he'll even hit up Paru, since they are neighbors, after all. Of course, who's to say the people Sokka's looking for will actually answer the door and not someone else? No one, that's who! Once he's done making his rounds, time consuming as they are, he'll be spending the rest of his evening on his front porch, reviewing the plans. Silverbergs. Jeez.]

Yeah, sure. [Stepping back to let him in. ...it's possible he's here to see Sanji, but given the timing-- oh hell, she won't assume.] Were you after anyone in particular?

[He steps inside. Wow, it's been a long time since he's been here. Wait, has he been here since they moved? Eh, he can't really recall.]

Brook, Usopp, and Chopper mostly. [He shrugs, as if it to indicate it's not a big rush. After all...] How's Sanji doing? [Sokka failed spectacularly at finding him.]

Usopp's here. And Brook is hiding. [Small, evil, and vaguely twisted grin goes here. Before it drops.]

Sanji-kun hasn't woken up yet. Chopper's in with him, so... [You want to see them, be my guest.]

[Oh boy. In there with sleeping Sanji... Sokka's instincts are telling him "USOPP USOPP USOPP" and maybe a little, "Wait, hiding?" Still, concern ends up overriding resentment.]

I guess I should see Sanji first. [He's asleep, so it won't be awkward.]

You can go in with me, if you want. [ Hey guys, what's up? Seeing as coming out of his room didn't get him almost hit by a flying skeleton, Usopp thinks that now looks like a good time for house rounds. ]

[That works for him, besides, Usopp is his smart guy bro. Or something.]

Works for me. I don't plan to wake him up or anything.

If he can sleep through Luffy being home, he can sleep through anything. [ So no worries. Usopp will be heading for that room now, smart guy bro. ]

[A nod at that as he follows, peeking into Sanji's room.] Yeah, I guess it's a wonder any of you guys sleep.

[Chopper will be at Sanji's bedside when they come in, and he angles his head over his shoulder to take a look. Now that Katara has filled in some blanks about Sanji's condition, he's a bit more at ease and manages a proper smile.] Hi, Sokka. Here to see Sanji?

[No, not as such. He's here to see you.] Kind of. [Sokka walks in closer to look Sanji over. The poor guy has definitely seen better days, hasn't he?] Has Katara seen him yet?

Yes. She was a lot of help. [The relief is palpable in his voice.] He'll be okay now...thanks to her.

[Sokka nods, quietly studying the sleeping Sanji. It's weird, seeing him like this.

... he's not even smoking.] What exactly happened?

The scientists put something in his brain to control him. It made him attack a few people he knows- it even tried to kill them. [ Not a story worthy of embellishment, he thinks. ]

But it's gone now, though.

Are you sure? [He'd hate to think Sanji was just waiting to recover before striking back.] And when did they do that? He hasn't been kidnapped in... months.

A person's mind is complex on its own, but it was able to use his personality when it needed to. It didn't just "take over". [He shrugs slightly, indicating that this is nothing more than a guess.] That level of control could have taken months to develop.

[A quiet nod. And here they were, about to go fight a battle for the same people who did this. He releases a quiet, resigned sigh.]

... we should probably talk about tomorrow.

Yeah.

Probably. [ The fight in unfamiliar territory against a group they've never fought before. Having a plan might be a good idea. ]

I know there was the meeting earlier... [And hopefully you guys attended.] But we need to go over what we'll be doing in our own group.

[Chopper's been putting the draft out of mind until now, but Sokka's right. The reindeer is relieved that his team consists mostly of people he knows...that alone makes things much easier.] Have duties been assigned to everyone yet?

For the most part. Our group consists of ten people. The two of you, Brook, Me, Katara, Toph, San, Raphael, Donatello, and Erza Scarlet. Donnie is going to be our scout once we're settled in. Chopper... we'll be counting on you in case anyone's injured. [And then a halfhearted shrug.] We really don't have a team leader yet, though.

[ ...he knows better than to offer Captain Usopp's services. Even Sanji would snort unconsciously if he tried. ]

Probably won't be too hard to figure out who's it once things get started.

... I was going to ask Brook. [He's the oldest, after all. He seems like he'd be the most qualified.]

Brook? [Well...he is the most experienced out of the people in that list Chopper knows. But he was outside getting his afro beat off by Nami just a while ago, so who knows where he is now.] You mean you haven't found him yet?

Uh, no. Besides, I wanted to check on Sanji first. [Who they're totally talking over. Keeping it classy.]

It's probably a good thing you didn't find him on the way in. If you can find him, then Nami can still find him, and then she'd kill him and nobody would be able to ask. [ ...er. Kill him again, that is. >> ]
