So hey, I kind of have a date I need to prepare for. Anyone got any good ideas about what exactly I should do? I know there's typical stuff like a dinner or flowers and stuff like that. But that's kind of amateur stuff, isn't it? I want to go all out! Sure, Luceti is kind of a boring place at times, but I want to really nail this one good. [Of course Sokka means the actual date (which is merely a practice one), not the person he's dating. Feel free to get that wrong, though.]

Well there's three ways you could do it. 1) Do the survey and see if she joins in and then if she doesn't, ask anyway and claim it's part of it. After the date she'll see right through it, but if she likes you enough she'll call it cute and you'll get points for trying. 2) Ask around to any of her friends. They might slip and give away the surprise though and if you're trying to keep it private, don't do that. 3) Pure bravado, just bite the bullet and ask with no pretense involved. It's upfront and either it'll be considered uncreative/unromantic or as honest.

My technique was always going for maximum aloofness. Of course, once the girl is actually interested in you, then you kind of have to change your strategy.

Usually I just try not to get my shins kicked too often. You'd be amazed how difficult that can be with most women. [His fault for liking the feisty ones.]

Well. I wasn't as aloof as I could have been. [It kind of worked on Suki, at least.] I've never had one try to kick my shins though.
