Hey Captain! I've got something to show you.

[This seems like a nice, ridiculous number of people to invite. For three canoes. Despite Yellow's suggestion, he doesn't include Red. He barely knows the guy, after all. Gold... well, he doesn't seem so bad.]

So some of you may have heard I was planning a little fishing trip soon. Not just going down the lake for the day, though! A few days camping under the stars, eating what we catch, living like real men! And uh, women! Just real living! It'll be great, trust me. There's even beach party opportunities, if you know what I mean. If all goes well, we leave this Sunday. So who's in?

So uh.. I hope you guys don't mind if I miss training for a few days. I'll be taking some friends of mine on a big fishing trip for a few days. Unwind! Enjoy nature! That sort of thing. I'll try to keep up my practice on my own, but it would take a few hours to go meeting you guys back in the village, given where we're going.

Hey, Edward. You okay with watching the smithy next week? I won't be around to run it. Oh and for everyone else, does anyone know any good creepy ghost stories for campfire situations? The creepier, the better!

[Once Sokka has made his messages sent out, he decides to enjoy the day off he scheduled himself from the smithy. So aside from attending school that day (and noting a specific lack of his sister, he decides to hang out on his roof practicing with a new flute he found. As it turns out, he's not very good with it just yet. Feel free to tell him to stop polluting the air with those horrible sounds. Hours later in the evening, he'll be off in the woods, deciding to enjoy some hunting. Anyone out in the woods at the time might find him skulking through the woods in his Water Tribe armor complete with wolf helmet. Because... he just likes an excuse to wear it.]

No problem. You'll need to give your body a little time to catch up with itself anyway. Try and get a few runs in when you can, though.

A few days aren't so bad. I'm sure the others will tell you the same, but if you have a few spare hours, do try to practice a little. Otherwise, enjoy your vacation~

[And later in the evening when Sokka is off hunting, he'll find a creature he likely wasn't wanting to run into.

Seriously, if Sokka was hunting for demons, this is his lucky day because he's found one. But chances are, that's not what he was looking for. And really, demon isn't all that tasty either.

Too bad for Sokka, because to Yuber, a human is a perfectly good thing to find while out hunting. An armed human is an even better thing to find. The demon will be approaching his newfound prey in hopes that it won't run away.]

Camping, huh? S'been a while since I've done that. Not since my journey, really... Sure, I'm in!

Maybe I'll take a run around the lake.

[Sokka has that horrible sinking feeling you get when hunting... and you realize there's a bigger predator than you out there. So he's remaining wary until he spots whether it's after the same thing as he is... or if it's after him.]

Yeah, see. I haven't done any camping since my journey either. So it'll be like old times!

[Oh no, this demon far prefers Sokka to the animal the pathetic human is hunting.

Yuber's steps slow as he gets closer to Sokka. He's definitely not playing fair and approaching from behind and considering his inhuman nature there isn't even an approaching shadow to give a hint of a demon coming from behind with two swords out and very ready to attack.]

... it's not a big deal, you know. Have you talked to the animals in the woods? They're not any smarter than our animals. The only difference is we understand them. And for the record! They still eat each other! The wolves seem to not be bothered at all that the rabbits speak the same language.

It did at first...but I've listened to them a bit since then.

They...aren't exactly self aware other than 'fear', 'pain', and 'escape'...which I knew about trouts and trout fishing before I could understand them.

Now, if one of them starts spouting off about how he can't leave his ten thousand eggs unattended in the river, I might start having second thoughts again.

[It's a good thing Sokka is being wary. Because as he turns to spot something, he catches the glint of metal from the corner of his eyes and immediately spins himself around.]

Who- [Wait. The black clothes. The hat. The blond braids... shit shit shit shit.]

[After hearing no response there...]

If it's that big of a deal, just bring some meat from the store. Because that meat definitely didn't talk before the Malnosso got it.

[Now is a very good time to run if Sokka doesn't want to get hurt.]

Well, depending on how you define the word, it is murder. Thing is, though, is that you murder other creatures just by breathing. So...killing something to eat it...just part of the whole life thing.

By the same token, sometimes people just feel strongly about certain things, including not wanting to hurt other creatures. It's not necessarily a bad thing, even if it drives you a little crazy. Look at it this way; she'd definitely think about what she's doing before she tried to hurt something. Lot of people could benefit from that kind of attitude.

[Sokka backs up warily. Unfortunately the last thing he wants to do is expose his back to Yuber again.]

I already know who you are.

[That last point manages to drive home. Hm.]

Yeah, I guess so. She never had this problem before they talked, that's all.
