[This seems like a nice, ridiculous number of people to invite. For three canoes. Despite Yellow's suggestion, he doesn't include Red. He barely knows the guy, after all. Gold... well, he doesn't seem so bad.]

So some of you may have heard I was planning a little fishing trip soon. Not just going down the lake for the day, though! A few days camping under the stars, eating what we catch, living like real men! And uh, women! Just real living! It'll be great, trust me. There's even beach party opportunities, if you know what I mean. If all goes well, we leave this Sunday. So who's in?

So uh.. I hope you guys don't mind if I miss training for a few days. I'll be taking some friends of mine on a big fishing trip for a few days. Unwind! Enjoy nature! That sort of thing. I'll try to keep up my practice on my own, but it would take a few hours to go meeting you guys back in the village, given where we're going.

[Once Sokka has made his messages sent out, he decides to enjoy the day off he scheduled himself from the smithy. So aside from attending school that day (and noting a specific lack of his sister, he decides to hang out on his roof practicing with a new flute he found. As it turns out, he's not very good with it just yet. Feel free to tell him to stop polluting the air with those horrible sounds. Hours later in the evening, he'll be off in the woods, deciding to enjoy some hunting. Anyone out in the woods at the time might find him skulking through the woods in his Water Tribe armor complete with wolf helmet. Because... he just likes an excuse to wear it.]

Hey, Sokka...I-I just wanted to apologize for messin' up the other day. I...[He sighs, steeling himself.] I got a bad history with that guy, and I lost control. So, sorry.

At this rate, some of us will have to hike down there anyway. So it's no big deal. We'll just take turns on the canoes when we're all there.

[... Sokka immediately bumps that filter up. This isn't something he wants people reading about.]

That's really not sound reasoning, Paru. When we were in the swamp, we met people there who ate almost exclusively bugs. Everything tastes like possum chicken, after all. They didn't even feet it to their pets! They called it people food.

But there's one problem with that idea, Jack. Your ship is going to fly, remember?

Yeah, he is. I can't believe he still had the stones to walk outta there like he owned the place after all of that. He's really pushin' his luck.

[And then Jay went off spouting about stupid people a few days later. Sokka had kept himself from getting involved.]

He started mouthin' off to me, callin' me all this shit that I've only heard from enemies. Animal and thing, but like it tasted bad, like he's so much better'n me because he's human. Whatever.

So I tell him to take it out back so I could wipe that smug look off his face. And we fought, and I was pissed but I was winnin', grindin' his stupid face in the dirt where it belongs.

Turns out the kid's got magic, and he wound up shootin' me with lightnin'. Almost killed me over some stupid brawl.

[There's a frown, then a considering look.]

I think I'd rather take her over the water for her maiden flight; you know--in case there's any crashing.

[... ouch. Sokka can't blame Raphael for that. Now wonder Raphael hated magic so much.]

... why didn't he use it again? [In fact, Jay didn't fight back at all.]

[The pirate moves forward to run a hand over one of the planks. This has been one of his worries--planing wood straight enough to serve for a ship. And there don't appear to be sawmills in Luceti...]

It was already here, actually. From whoever built the barracks. If you want more, I guess it's a matter of building a sawmill to cut more.

Hmph. But where will the planks for the sawmill come from, then?
