[Sokka doesn't want to mention what happened to Mayoi if he can avoid it. She wouldn't have told him about if she didn't trust him. Even if she's telling other people who are basically strangers *cough*.]

Mayoi is a close friend of mine and Alexei recently moved in with her. I don't trust the guy. My sister has healed him up in the past for mysterious injuries.

[... Wait. Maybe this is the guy that made Mayoi so curious to know what Alexei did? It certainly sounded like someone's actions/feelings about Alexei drove her to ask Yuri about it repeatedly.

And why do you need to talk to me about him, in person? [It's mostly a curious tone he's got going on there, but there's some underlying suspicion as well. It's only been a few days since The Incident -- this can't be a coincidence.]

I don't have to, I'd just rather do it in person, since it's pretty important. Besides, this way neither of us can go back replaying the conversation for other people.

[... Good point. He's still suspicious about all this, but whatever. He's also not sure what sort of answers Sokka is expecting out of him, but if he wants some sort of outline as to Why Alexei Sucks, he's going to have to earn it.

Regardless, Sokka should see Yuri approaching about fifteen minutes later, since he lives on the other side of the world compared to the barracks and was in no rush to get over there. Seeing the distinct lack of Super Ultra Serious coming from the other actually relaxes Yuri a little -- maybe this whole thing wouldn't be quite as annoying as he was foreseeing. ... Maybe.]

[~~All according to plan.~~ When Sokka sees him coming, he'll get to his feet. He stays loose. Sure, he's armed, but who in Luceti doesn't carry three or more weapons on them at the time? Weirdos, that's who. He'll even attempt to be jovial.]

I talked to Alexei when those thought bubbles were above people's heads. There was something about warnings about him... and the fact that he died. So I want to know what he did that was bad enough that people would need warned about him. Why he died... and why suddenly you're not in a hurry to go talking about the stuff he did in your world.

That's a lot you're asking for. [Might as well get that last bit out of the way first.] I don't like talking about it because a lot of what he did is no one's business. Not only that, at the moment, he's only the problem of those who came from the same world as him -- not all of Luceti's.

So you're saying if he's no one else's problem, you have absolute confidence in him that he won't hurt anyone?

He lost his main reason to cause trouble when he ended up here. If he causes trouble for anyone, it'll be for myself and those I live with -- anyone else would have to either start with him first, or have some sort of use for him to take advantage of.

Like having a house he can live in, for instance.

Or using a little girl's feelings as a shield. I doubt he'll bother with that now, though.

She wasn't too happy about it. And Mayoi tends to downplay things as it is, so it couldn't have been that simple.

... Mayoi knows about Alexei already. If he tries something, she shouldn't be blindsided by it. As for your sister ... as long as she doesn't do anything "interesting" that would make Alexei want to manipulate her, she shouldn't be in any danger, either.

Yeah. It's manipulating water. Any water. She can use if for fighting. But she can also use it to manipulate the uh... flow of chi, or something, in a person's body to accelerate healing.

[He's quiet for a moment. Would Alexei be interested in something like that? ... Who knows. He wasn't about to knock on his door and ask, either.]

I only know of that one time. But if she did it another time, I don't think she would have bothered to tell me. She uses it all the time, even for minor cuts and scrapes.

... As far as he needs to. Even if innocent people have to suffer and lives have to be lost in order for things to go the way he wants, he'll keep doing it. [Whether that's true for how Alexei is now in Luceti, Yuri doesn't know. Or honestly care.]

[He really has no answer for that. But it tells him just about everything he needs to know. There were people like that in his world. Fire Lord Ozai, Admiral Zhao, Princess Azula... even Jet. And now there was another one. Living with Mayoi. And that his sister was friends with.] ... thanks Yuri. [Now he's the one who's going to make to leave. He doesn't know what to do with this information. He just... needs to think.]

[All Yuri does is nod slightly and leave the area. That's the third person he had to discuss Alexei with in Luceti ... sigh. Man. Why couldn't they have asked someone who actually has monitored whether Alexei is "different" now or not? If this ends up biting him in the ass because Alexei changed for the better, he's going to be very pissed off ~~and probably hate Alexei even more than he already does~~.]
