[And that's all Sokka is saying. Everyone invited will likely know this isn't some pitch-in lunch (well, it is kinda) but actually a SEEKRET MEETING to discuss the three main threats and the trap Sokka has been planning. Also that special friends are meant to be those who really should hear this and could be useful to the mission. Not boyfriends. He's talking about you Katara.

Whenever they arrive, the front room will have been set up with multiple chairs and the couches arranged in a circle, all directed to the back of the room where an easel with charts is set up.]

[After listening to the others, Katara has a question.]

...Sokka, you said this guy could teleport, right? So why would he just walk up to the spot of our choosing if someone called him out? It's not like Azula would ever let us pick where we would fight her, and if this guy is as crazy as she is, what's to stop him from seeming to ignore the challenge and then picking his own place and time?

There isn't anything. If he doesn't take the bait, there's no plan. That's why we have to make sure it's somebody he'll underestimate and allow them to choose the location and time. More to the point, he has to think it's random and the plan has to take place immediately after the challenge is made.

I don't know, Sokka. It doesn't seem like this part of the plan is very reliable.

Unfortunately Yuber can't be routed like a normal enemy can due to his ability to simply teleport where he likes. Luring him to the trap by letting him choose the location also has its own problems, because he can route us in whatever direction he likes.

The first stage of the plan was always a long shot. But if he doesn't take the bait, then we loose very little. The details of the trap will remain a secret and we can devise another way of luring him in.

Unless he decides that he wants to get at the challenger in another way. Then all we've done is singled out someone for him to attack.

Which is why we have to make absolutely certain that whoever we pick is capable of handling him on their own.
