Although Sokka and Buffy's relationship was originally built on snark and pointless conversations, things took a twist when Sokka was given Slayer powers by the Malnosso. Making him the only male slayer ever, even if he ended up not being very good at it.
They have shared quite about their pasts together. Buffy is one of the few people to know about what happened to Yue, how intimate his relationship is with Suki, and the fact that he 'died' on the space draft. He knows many of her secrets as well, like the fact she was in heaven when she died the second time and her interactions with the General.
Having seen what her powers are capable of firsthand, he remains wary of her abilities. Never underestimate tiny blonde girls.
They are both members of the consonant-vowel-double consonant-vowel club. Sometimes they are also shopping buddies.
He is aware of what she does as a Slayer and has heard quite a few of her tales, but he is more familiar with aspects of Earth than her personal life.
Sokka will never not be baffled by her dating Jack Sparrow. Baffled.
