[The following is written, but Sokka will later read it out loud after it's written for the benefit of those who can't read.]

Before Vyse was sent home, he passed along a list of dangerous people in Luceti to the different defense groups here. Since Vyse isn't able to do it himself, you can find the list here. [Sokka will provide instructions to find the list here. The list itself shouldn't be easily traceable back to Sokka given the generic writing.] If you need someone to read it to you, let me know.

This list is so people know who to avoid. There's instructions on how to filter against these people, but you should only use it for important business or to protect sensitive stuff, like your current location. If everyone starts using it for anything and everything, the bad guys will know something is up and that could just make things worse. I don't think anyone wants to see what happens when Yuber and Aku get bored.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Sokka. Part of the White Lotus. Since Vyse is gone, I'll try to keep the list up to date. Right now there aren't any New Feathers, so we shouldn't have to worry about too many popping up. But if there's anyone that needs to be added, just let me know and I can fix the list and change the filter. I'd rather not everyone know I'm the one keeping it up to date, though. There's probably already potential bad guys out there who are able to see the list as it is.

... so yeah.

[And with that business finished, Sokka is going to throw himself at his work at the smithy. It's the best way to not think about his friends being sent home, much less Xion having died. He'll answer his journal later in the day.]

[She didn't want to pry. But she's been chewing this over for a day, and she's worried. And the person she'd be more likely to ask is ...somewhat unapproachable right now.]

What happened out there? With Xion, and Sanji?

[Yes, it's blunt. Sorry about that.]

[... well, ouch. Just ouch. This conversation about Aku had distracted him from that. This a rather painful reminder. And even with a filter...]

Can we talk in person? [Some subjects... well, they don't work through cold, magic paper.]

Should I come round?

I'm at the smithy. We can talk out back. [He doesn't want to talk with Winry and Edward in earshot, journals or not. Behind the building will give them some privacy at least.]

All right. I'll be over in a few minutes.

[And she'll close the journal. Headin' your way, Sokka.]

[Sokka will be waiting in that small area behind the smithy and Litchi's house. He's not doing much of anything, except for sitting on one of the logs sitting back there. In a way this is kind of a good thing, because he's been exhausting himself at the smithy doing work that really doesn't need done.]

[Gdit, Sokka, she's the one who's meant to look tired all the time :| Nami will approach cautiously. And stop by the log and look kind of awkward. She's honestly sorry for bringing it up, but given the witnesses that were around? You're the only one she knows that isn't currently dead.]

Hey.

[Sokka is pulling it off well! Too bad Katara plans to foil his efforts to destroy himself...]

Hey. [He stands up.] So... I guess Sanji isn't taking it too well, huh?

[At least, he figures that's why Nami is even asking. The confused reactions from Nami, Brook, and Katara to the story lend towards this conclusion. Not to mention the fact Sokka himself isn't doing too hot.]

No, he's not. [And she frowns for a moment, because it's...more than that.]

I guess that'd hold true for all of you, though. You look exhausted.

I'm fine. [This isn't about him anyway.]

So... should I start from the beginning?

Please. [Straight and simple. This is important.]

[He's too tired to spread it out anyway. So he gives everything he can, from his arrival, to the fight, yelling at Sanji to help out, the bit about the stink bomb, Riku getting hurt, him firing off Tsinku, and Sanji's very sudden change during the battle, to him finally leaving.]

... we ran into Katara after that, she healed us, and we went home.

[She's quiet for a long time.

She'd made one assumption: that Sanji had had no choice about attacking Xion, but that doesn't sound exactly the case. Things were drastic, sure. But not to that point. Nowhere near enough for him to break something that important--

and not so coldly, that's for sure.

This is Sanji.]

...you didn't see anything that might have set him off?

He was getting attacked. I know Brook said he would never strike a girl, but that's what happened. Maybe he just realized there wasn't any point in holding back since me and Riku were out of the fight.

[And frankly, as far as Sokka is concerned, they could have avoided a lot of grief if Sanji hadn't been holding back the entire time. He and Riku might have both been better off for it.]

[She's gone from thinking something is a little off about this, to something is very wrong. This doesn't make any sense. The fact that they're in Luceti means any number of things could have happened - and she's thinking through all the possibilities now, but none of those really make sense either. And the one thing that does come to mind is that Sanji attacked her only a few weeks ago.

But that was because of a mushi.

Which are all gone. So that shouldn't have any part of it. (Should it?)

...heavy thoughts, and she's very worried now, and it probably shows on her face. But all she says, absently, is:]

Maybe.

[There's not much to glean there, except that Sokka can tell that something is wrong. He doesn't know why, but Nami seems to think so. And Katara... and Brook. The question is, why should he even care?

Well that's easy. Because he's better than that.] Is there anything I can do?

[Is there? Just...give her a chance to mull that over.]

...that'd be easier to answer if I knew exactly what was wrong. I'd say just be careful with him and let us know if he does anything out of the ordinary. [...and then she gives him a wry grin.] But given you guys aren't really talking, that's kind of ...not applicable.

[Ouch. Awkward.]

Uh. Yeah. He mentioned that, huh? [He shouldn't be surprised]

Only in passing. I'd kinda already guessed. [And she gives him a curious look. She came to talk to Katara about it, but Sanji mentioned teenage pride, so she has a feeling this isn't about Azula. And now isn't the time.]

I'm not gonna pry.

[He nods at that. Sokka figures if something's up with Sanji, something like that can wait. It's extremely unlikely that their disagreement is the root of all of this. And if it is, well, you suck Sanji.]

Mmm. [Sounding distracted - she's trying to work out what to do now, if anything. But Sokka did her a favour, so--]

And thanks for meeting me. [Because it can't have been nice to talk about.]

It was nothing. [He turns to leave]
