[The following is written, but Sokka will later read it out loud after it's written for the benefit of those who can't read.]

Before Vyse was sent home, he passed along a list of dangerous people in Luceti to the different defense groups here. Since Vyse isn't able to do it himself, you can find the list here. [Sokka will provide instructions to find the list here. The list itself shouldn't be easily traceable back to Sokka given the generic writing.] If you need someone to read it to you, let me know.

This list is so people know who to avoid. There's instructions on how to filter against these people, but you should only use it for important business or to protect sensitive stuff, like your current location. If everyone starts using it for anything and everything, the bad guys will know something is up and that could just make things worse. I don't think anyone wants to see what happens when Yuber and Aku get bored.

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Sokka. Part of the White Lotus. Since Vyse is gone, I'll try to keep the list up to date. Right now there aren't any New Feathers, so we shouldn't have to worry about too many popping up. But if there's anyone that needs to be added, just let me know and I can fix the list and change the filter. I'd rather not everyone know I'm the one keeping it up to date, though. There's probably already potential bad guys out there who are able to see the list as it is.

... so yeah.

[And with that business finished, Sokka is going to throw himself at his work at the smithy. It's the best way to not think about his friends being sent home, much less Xion having died. He'll answer his journal later in the day.]

[He turns in his bed, so his feet are dangling off the end. There's a chair in the room, but plenty of room on the bed too.]

Hey.

[...well, this is going well. She moves to take a seat on the chair. Let's just get this over with.]

How are you feeling?

[Does he claim it's okay and have her call him out for an obvious lie or does he just get it out?]

Like she's still gone.

Do you want to talk about it?

What's there to talk about? She'll be back in less than a week.

[She'll take that as a yes.]

But it doesn't feel that way, does it.

I didn't think it would ever actually happen. And I had to hurt her. What if she remembers that? What if it's the only thing she remembers?

[Frankly, Katara is a little pissed off at this girl she's never met for putting her brother in this position in the first place. If she knew she had to die to save someone's life, she should have just gotten it over with, not forced all her friends to fight her. So there's a moment's pause as she - remarkably - swallows back a lecture. It's probably the only time that's going to happen in this conversation.]

Do you really think that's what's going to happen?

[Sokka would probably defend her. A lot. So it's likely for the best.]

I don't know. I've... never had to do anything like that before. I don't know how any of this is supposed to work.

How any of what works? Whatever happened with her, or the death penalties?

[Well yes. There's that. But... ] What happens when she comes back.

Sokka... they only take one thing. If it was going to be all her memories of you, it would be all of them. Not just leaving the one with you fighting her. And you said Riku was her boyfriend, and he was fighting her too, so why would they pick the memories of you over the memories of him? Stop worrying about that, you'll drive yourself crazy.

[That's... not what he meant. But he doesn't correct her on it.]

I know. I just need something to distract me.

You need to get some rest. You're wearing yourself thin. [Don't think she hasn't seen you practicing until you can't move anymore.] You're exhausted.

I'm fine. If you want exhausted, that was me back when Azula was following Appa's fur trail. [He tries to say this lightheartedly. Brighten up the mood. Back in the good old days when firebenders wanted to kill them.]

[Tries... and fails.]

No, you're not fine. It's okay to be upset, Sokka. It's not okay to make yourself sick about it. Do you want me to fix you something to help you sleep?

[He can't help but wince, mostly inwardly, at how easily she saw through that.]

... yeah, okay. [He did want to sleep, after all.]

Get ready, I'll bring something in for you.

[She stands and walks over to the door, only to pause with her hand on the doorframe, her back to him.]

When Ginko came back... I couldn't believe that he was really there, right up to when I touched him. And the whole time I was talking to him, I couldn't help but think in the back of my mind - it's not fair. It's not fair that it works this way here, it's not fair that we get him back and not Mom.

But that's just the way it is here. Nothing lasts, not really. Not even death. And we never know who we're going to lose next, if they'll be sent home or if something bad happens...

So we can either try to hold on, or close ourselves off... or we can look at each day, each friendship as a gift. Just one day at a time.

[She glances over her shoulder at him, offers him a small smile.] I know which one I'm picking. I'll go get you that milk.

[Off she goes.]

[He opens his mouth, agape for a moment as he thinks to say something. Nothing does. He knows she's right, of course. He said as much to Mayoi when Alexei was sent home. Sent home only to die, not less. Having it turned back on him was a dose of reality, certainly. He knew people were sent home all the time. That hadn't stopped him from making friends. In fact, it was one reason he had so many.

Always have plenty. Just in case. It was probably selfish, but it was practical. He was always practical. He just had to be practical about this too. Xion knew this would happen. She also knew it was likely Sokka would fight. Even if she remembered, he would remember her attacking him. It wouldn't be easy, but they would just have to forgive one another. He'd already done that for her.

Nothing lasts here. Nothing except for what you leave behind. It wasn't really all that different from the real world. With real animals. Turtle ducks, platypus bears, and big flying six legged air bison...

And.... food that eats people. It wasn't the best dream he would be having tonight, but it was better than the ones before. Too bad about the milk being wasted though.]
