[Changing back suddenly had been something of a shock. His counterpart had a tendency to stay up late and while in the middle of making a sandwich for lunch, he gradually became aware something had changed as he blanked out for a moment. He felt shorter, younger, and there was less hair on his chin. His hair was still down, but he soon fixed that. After enough time, things started to catch up with him. All the horrible things he said, did, and thought... they were firmly in his mind. Maybe it wasn't really him who did all that stuff, but he remembered it like it was.

He spends a few hours not even sleeping, just going over everything he could remember, His first priority was his sister. After quietly peeking in on her, he could see she was back to her old self. They really, really needed to talk. But for now, he takes out his journal and writes out a message.]

I'm back to my old self. To anyone I talked to this last week, I'm sorry for everything. It wasn't me, it was... someone else. Kind of. Especially you, Winry.

[Of course, writing that in the middle of the night likely won't get noticed until the morning. By that time, Sokka will be on the roof of his house, temporarily covering up the damage left there by a certain incident yesterday. It's a good excuse for not having to face what happened the last week.]

[His expression darkens.]

Yeah. Yuber happened. [A small pause.] And then Avatar Sokka happened.

[Caesar tilts his head.]

Sounds like you've had an eventful week.

You don't know the half of it.

Some of us got lucky. [Yeah, right. He shrugs.] No one got hurt, did they?

I did, but it wasn't much. If Katara hadn't got out of the house, though...

[Those words were disappointing, but Caesar had to focus on the positive here. If he made his own disgust apparent, he'd be stuck in the middle of a conversation he didn't feel like having.]

At least everyone's all right. Things might seem normal for now, but the past few weeks have been so hectic, we might be speaking too soon.

I think we're due for things not being hectic, but things don't always work out like that. [He lets out a frustrated sigh.]

Things really have a sense of horrible, dramatic timing lately. The draft, then the earthquake, all those monsters, everyone going crazy, and then to top it all off, turning my sister into a little girl covered in burns. Oh, and of course, Yuber almost killing her.

[Caesar also sighs. Luceti, you are so tiring sometimes.]

It's been one thing after another these days. It's a wonder anyone survived that experiment.

You know, I've been thinking about that. The other me assumed it was an experiment, but that doesn't make any sense. I wonder if what happened the last week was some kind of side effect of everything else.

My brother mentioned something like that, too, simply referring to it as a shift rather than an experiment. It certainly wouldn't be surprising after all of the other things that happened.

I'm not calling that Catherine guy a hero or something, but even if he could manage it, I think he'd at least give us a break before sticking us with something like that.

Perhaps. [He shrugs slightly.] I'm not sure I care. It doesn't change the fact that it happened. And these things never work out in our favor anyway.

[A frown.] I think it does matter, this time around. About whether or not those people we were replaced with were real or not.

Maybe one of those jerks has a really overactive imagination. It doesn't take much to warp the truth. Let's just hope we won't have to see those people again anytime soon.

Hm. [He doesn't sound too happy at Caesar's hypothesis. He doesn't like the idea of some of those people not existing. They deserved to keep on existing, even after the trouble it may have caused.]

If we do, I doubt it will be anytime soon. That's good enough.

I completely agree. There's no telling if we'll even be around should that actually happen. [...but he sincerely hoped it wouldn't, because wow, AU!Caesar was scary.]

I guess we'll see. [He gives Caesar a look.] What about you? What did you end up with?

[He shakes his head.]

Someone with a lot of unresolved issues. Needless to say, I'll be glad if I never have to deal with that again. [But he knows that isn't possible. His other self's issues were still very much his own.]

[He considers that momentarily, before discarding it. He doesn't know Caesar well enough to think much of that.]

I wouldn't mind meeting the other Sokka, just so I could punch him. [Pause.] Not sure I could manage it, though. Oh well.

[Just as planned!]

You won't know until you try. Something to keep in mind for next time.

Nothing like a good old sneak attack! [... but his smile fades as he looks back at his house.]

I should go get back to work. This house won't fix- well, okay, technically it will. Just not as fast as I'd like.

[He nods and starts walking off.]

I understand. Good luck with that.

[With a brief wave, Sokka goes back to what he's doing.]
